Paris

A weekend business trip to Paris for me, but unfortunately it didn't work out to bring SJ along. A real pity, too, as the weather was actually somewhat reasonable for Europe in November.

Getting in and out of Paris was a bit of a challenge, as evidently last week was a major vacation week in France, so everyone was on vacation for the week and just coming back to work on Monday. I joked to my colleague that we could feel confident that there wouldn't be any strikes on Monday, since everyone was just getting back from vacation, and they would likely work at least a day before going on strike on Tuesday.

Well, call me Nostradamus, but the French railroad did in fact go on strike on Tuesday. Maybe a 35 hour work-week and 6 weeks of vacation is just too grueling...
