Saturday BBQ - Nathan as Grill Master

Nathan has been wanting to try to BBQ ribs on his grill. He's TiVo'd every possible grilling show on the Food Network and has spent hours surfing the web and reading America's Test Kitchen cookbooks to come up with the perfect way to grill these ribs. After buying more grill accessories for this undertaking, he set off last Saturday to prepare these bad boys. He started with a dry rub of spices and sugar and then cooked them "low and slow" all day in his grill. He'd go check on them every now and then and about 1/2 way through had a small piece he brought inside for us to sample. Everyone thought they were really tasty and we could hardly wait for the finished product!

Several hours later we sat down to a wonderful dinner of ribs, corn on the cob, and salad. We ate so many ribs and corn that we didn't even touch the salad! Even Jayden liked the ribs and couldn't get enough. Yummy!!

While Nathan was mastering the art of ribs on the grill, I spent some time inside trying out a new strawberry pie recipe. We had berries from our berry picking adventure earlier in the week, but I also had to use some from the store. It was an excellent recipe, pretty easy to make, and doesn't require baking so the kitchen didn't get hot! After our great dinner we enjoyed a very tasty dessert. Yummy, again!
