A Fall Tradition

Each year around the time of my birthday we head to our favorite orchard for some apple picking. This year was no exception. We enjoyed cider donuts, visiting with the farm animals, and eating apples fresh from the tree. It was a great, sunny day. Now I have to go make apple pie and apple crisp and apple muffins....(Can you get the idea that I have lots of apples to use up!)

A Busy Week

S just finished week one of being a Kindergartner! This week was full of activities. Not only did S have school every day, but she also had swimming lessons on Monday and ballet class on Thursday. We went to our first PTO organized activity as a family - the ice cream social, and I went to the first PTO meeting of the year. So far we are all enjoying school and all the excitement and activity it brings. Sydney has met many new friends, had a "job" in the classroom, and brought her teacher a flower. She's fitting right in to her new class and all the kids seem to be getting along well. This is a whole new world for us and S!

Boy Toys!

"If I'm going to push around a pink, girly stroller I might as well put in it a firetruck and an excavator!"

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday S had her first day of Kindergarten. She's been very excited about it and was so happy! She walked all the way to school with her backpack and lunch box and like the brave girl she is lined up with her teacher to go to the classroom. When I picked her up from school she said, "Mommy, that was so fun!" She repeated this statement about 10 more times on the walk home. When asked what her most favorite part was she said "recess." Her second favorite was "the classroom kitchen" and her third favorite part was "story time."

Ready for Earl

S's new raincoat arrived yesterday just in time for the Hurricane we're supposed to get tonight. She's really hoping it rains a lot! The rest of us aren't!
