The Haircut

J was in need of a haircut and Nathan decided he'd give it a try again since he had success with J's first haircut in October. J was not as thilled this time. It took all of us to try to distract him and be still. There were a few times I had to hold his head while also holding his arms down. In the end, we ended up having him watch America's Funniest Videos to entertain him and we had to undress him since trimming the back of his hair was not really working since he had a turtleneck on! But, about 40 minutes after starting the haircut J was done and sucking his thumb to comfort himself from all the combing, buzzing, and snipping.

Winter Wonderland

It's been quite a winter so far. We've had about a major snowstorm every single week for the past month. A little accidental ingenuity has helped to deal with some of the heaviest snowfalls.

But, it is getting to be a bit tiresome. We had another 6-7" of snowfall since this last storm, and the piles of snow around our house are getting quite mountainous. They are over 6 feet tall at the front and back of our driveways so that is it getting quite challenging to get the snow on top of them. They are forecasting another snowstorm for the middle of this week. Should be fun.

Fun in the Snow

Over the past 2 weeks we've had 2 big snow storms. The 2 biggest differences in the storms were the amount of snow and the temperatures after the storm. The first storm brought one foot of snow and then was followed by a couple days of 50 degree weather so there was good melting. This most recent storm brought 20 inches to Arlington and frigid temps. So, no melting for quite a while. Here's a few snapshots of the past couple weeks.

I sure hope there is no more snow for a while. We are running out of places to put it!
