A Tale of Two Pinks

Things are moving along on our attic rennovation. Not moving as fast as we'd like, but at least going in a forward direction for the time being. Since we started talking about SJ's new room to her she's requested it be a pink room. According to Benjamin Moore there are about 100 different kinds of pink. We settled on one called Sweet 16 Pink. Sounds innocent enough, right? Well the morning after the painters put up the first coat I let out a gasp when I walked in to her room. It looked more like Pepto pink! It was so bright and bold and I just didn't know how I'd live with it. So we quickly took a trip to the local paint store and bought 2 new cans of a lighter pink, apologized to the painters, and now feel much better about SJs room. She didn't seem to care about the lighter color. She's simply tickled pink about her whole new room :)
(p.s. the dark band of pink at the bottom of the wall is the original color.)

It's fun to spoil SJ

After a great week at the Lake, SJ's Grandma and Grandpa came to Arlington for a few more days. While here they bought her a piggy bank, introduced her to root beer floats and marshmallows, and took her to the bakery every day!

Lake Winnipesaukee

Finally I have a few minutes to post some pictures from our recent vacation. I went through many, many pictures and first narrowed it down to 20. Then I tried to narrow it down again - I figured it's taken me this long to finally get a blog posting about what happened just over 2 weeks ago that I 'd better not try to do 20 of them or else I'd still be posting summer vacation when autum rolls around. Anyway, here are some of the highlights from a great vacation that included: family, birthdays, swimming, canoeing, boat riding, shopping, digging in the sand, sparklers, dinners out, lunches in, mini-golfing, tie-dying, playing games, blowing bubbles and ice-cream!

Bye, Gretchen

Today we had to say a sad good bye to our friend, Gretchen. She's off to Florida and we'll miss her very much. We wish her all the best and will try to visit soon!

Our Friends

Today we also have to say an almost good-bye to other friends - they don't actually leave for a few more weeks. They are moving to Minnesota and we'll miss them a lot, too. All the best to DEO&I.

We did pause at a get-together for a group photo. Considering it included 7 kids under the age of 5 I think it came together quite easily.
